RENTAL PROPERTY SCAMS:
Be aware that there have been a number of folks renting property from individuals that did not own the property! Some vacant condominiums and single family homes have been rented without the owners permission. After the renters move in they are evicted by the owner when they are discovered residing there. The renters are out the damage deposit and usually two months rent.
Before renting check with the local state or county government offices (or on line) as to who the owner is. Make sure the person renting to you is either the owner or a authorized representative.
